Still in Portland,
We did laundry this morning, then picked Drew up at his apartment about 11:30. Then we went to Mt. Angel--this was sort of a trip to Mecca for Grandpa because it is where his Traeger grill was made. Grandpa had seen on the internet that Traeger had a restaurant there, where they served things from the grill. We asked about it and were told that Traeger's had sold it a while back, and then it had gone out of business. We went to the Glockenspiel restaurant there and ate lunch, which was very good--we then went looking for the Traeger manufacturing place. We finally found it and pulled in--Grandpa talked to Mark Traeger, and he told Grandpa that the business had moved to Wilsonville (which is closer to Portland), and the Traegers aren't too much involved in the day to day business now, but Grandpa was glad he got to talk to Mark Traeger anyway. Drew went to his apartment to get ready for work--that's when we came back to the motel and I sent the blog. We were going to go to the Japanese Garden, but on the way, we got sidetracked at the Portland Zoo. We really liked the layout of the zoo, and the trees and vegetation were amazing; however, the selection of animals wasn't too impressive--Grandpa decided he liked the animals at Abilene better. Anyway, we are in the room now. It feels REALLY good to be in one place for a few days. We are tentatively planning to leave Portland on Monday. Will send some pictures now.
Love,Mimi

I'm still enjoying your blog but I'm with Matt--we need to see pictures of Chuck--if just to know you haven't dumped him somewhere along the way..... It's really good to see pictures of Drew too--he's either still getting taller or you're shrinking Mimi. Some things never change, I notice Drew is barefoot. Our house is STILL sold. We are set to close on the 20th here and the 21st in Lubbock. You may want to extend your trip for a little bit or you will get in on all the fun of helping us unload and move in!
We are enjoying your blog. It looks like y'all are having a good time (if chuck is really there). Sounds like we will be planning a trip out of town around August 21st. It's fairly hot (but not windy!) here this week. We are working on the foundation for the new addition and more grass plugs. Have fun and be careful.
